Seattle Storm’s Ninth Annual Toy Drive Benefiting Seattle Children’s, Supported by Aetna Starts This Week

Donations can be made online or in person at Climate Pledge Arena on June 29

The Seattle Storm is excited to announce its ninth annual Toy Drive benefiting Seattle Children’s, supported by Aetna, a CVS Health company. Between June 21 and June 29, fans will have the chance to donate toys or make financial contributions towards pediatric medical treatment on the official campaign page. An Amazon wish list curated by Seattle Children’s s is also an available alternative.

“I have watched this campaign unfold for a few seasons now and it’s an honor to be so closely involved with it this year,” said Storm Center Ezi Magbegor, who will deliver the toys collected in-person to the kids to conclude the toy drive. “Impacting the lives of kids is one of the most rewarding parts of this job, and I hope that the Seattle community can get behind such a great cause!”

“We are incredibly grateful for the generous philanthropy efforts of the Seattle Storm and Aetna,” said Eve Kopp, Sr. Director of Corporate Giving at Seattle Children’s. “The annual toy drive is a great example of our community in Seattle coming together to really support our patients when they need it most.”

Since the Toy Drive’s inception, the Storm has helped raise over $35,000 for Seattle Children’s and nearly 15,000 toys through fan contribution and team engagement. This year, in addition to the online contributions, fans can bring toys in person to donation bins that will be located inside Climate Pledge Arena during the back-to-back homestand against the Minnesota Lynx on June 29.

Founded and run initially by a group of philanthropist women more than 100 years ago, Seattle Children’s is at the forefront of medical research, working to cure childhood disease and improve outcomes for children all over the world. The organization specializes in meeting the unique physical, emotional, and developmental needs of children from infancy through young adulthood, by the outstanding work of its physicians in nearly 60 pediatric subspecialties.
