Packers Get Back On Track With Blowout MNF Victory Over Lions

Alarms were going off around the league after the Green Bay Packers laid an egg against the New Orleans Saints in week 1. Many took the 38-3 loss as a sign that the Packers weren’t who we thought they were.

I get it, it looked bad as it could. Reigning MVP Aaron Rodgers came out and threw 2 uncharacteristic interceptions, while the Saints held Pro Bowl RB Aaron Jones to under 2 yards per carry.

I think it’s safe to say that both players redeemed themselves after leading the Packers to a 35-17 victory over their division rival Detroit Lions.

Rodgers was back to his efficient self going 22 of 27 for 255 yards and 4 touchdowns.

The player of the game in my opinion was the other Aaron for the Packers. Aaron Jones ended the game with 4 touchdowns (3 receiving & 1 rushing) and 115 yards from scrimmage.

With the Lions repeatedly lining up in a 2 deep safety look, Jones found himself covered by linebackers out of the backfield for most of the night and to Rodgers’ credit he didn’t get greedy and took the mismatch for most of the night to bury the Lions in the second half.

It’s good to see Green Bay looking like they found a rhythm because they have the undefeated San Francisco 49ers up next.
