Omar’s Coming: Baltimore Ravens Pay Homage To Michael K. Williams

On Sunday night as the Baltimore Ravens prepared to host the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday Night Football, they did something pregame that nearly bought some fans to tears.

Recently, we were shocked to learn that actor Michael K. Williams had passed away. Michael K. Williams was known and loved for many roles but his most famous role was as Omar on the hit series ‘The Wire’.

‘The Wire’ was based in Baltimore and to pay homage to the life and legacy of Michael K. Williams, on Sunday night, the Ravens kicked off their pregame events by playing Michael K. Williams’ famous ‘Omar’s Coming whistle’.

The Ravens went on to play big on primetime and Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson got the so called “Monkey off his back”, by defeating Patrick Mahomes’ led Kansas City Chiefs for the first time.
