UNC Upsets #11 Florida State As Roy Williams Get Win Number 900

Roy Williams adds another layer to his illustrious career as one of the greatest college basketball coaches of all-time with North Carolina’s 78-70 victory over No. 11 Florida State on Saturday at the Smith Center.

Williams notched his 900th career win as a head coach becoming the fastest to ever reach the milestone in games (1,161) and seasons (33). The Hall of Fame coach is fourth all-time on the wins list behind Duke’s Mike Krzyzewski (1,168 wins), Syracuse’s Jim Boeheim (97), and former Army, Indiana, and Texas Tech coach Bob Knight (902).

North Carolina freshman center Walker Kessler had a career-high 20 points and eight rebounds. Carolina also got double-digit points out of a trio of other freshmen — Kerwin Walton, Caleb Love and R.J. Davis — though they struggled through a combined 9-for-34 shooting performance. They did, however, hit all 14 of their free throw attempts

How do you think North Carolina would fare in the tournament.
