Atlanta Dream Exercise Aari McDonald’s Fourth-Year Option

Atlanta Dream have exercised the fourth-year option on guard Aari McDonald’s rookie scale contract, the team announced today.

The Dream drafted McDonald with the No. 3 overall pick in the 2021 WNBA Draft out of Arizona. She saw a breakout year in her second season in the WNBA in 2022, averaging 11.1 points, 2.6 assists and 1.5 steals per game. In her rookie season, McDonald received WNBA and Associated Press All-Rookie Team honors after leading all first-year players in the league with 59 assists and 25 total steals.

Transaction: The Atlanta Dream exercised the team option for Aari McDonald (fourth-year option, 2024).
