Davante Adams Traded to Raiders, Gets Record Deal

The Las Vegas Raiders made a huge splash by reuniting two former Fresno State Bulldogs.

After a highly publicized start to the offseason due to Aaron Rodgers, the Green Bay Packers sent All Pro WR Davante Adams to the Raidersfor a 1st and 2nd round pick.

This move brings Adams and Raiders QB, Derek Carr, back together as the pair were teammates at Fresno State.

Green Bay may have ruined their relationship with Adams over their decision to use the franchise tag on him instead of locking him up long term.

As for Las Vegas this helps them keep up with the rest of the AFC West. The Broncos and Chargers made blockbuster trades and free agent moves to stack up with the loaded Chiefs.

The Raiders took it a step further and made Adams the highest paid receiver of all time. He signed a five year deal for $142.5 million.

A deal this size comes with expectations and Davante Adams is 29 years old. It would be unprecedented for a receiver to maintain the kind of numbers that Adams has made us accustom to.

He is coming off his best season, where he recorded 123 receptions for 1553 yards and 11 touchdowns.

Only time will tell if Adams can be this productive without having Aaron Rodgers. In his press conference he said Carr has already been bugging him to get on the field so the tandem should be ready to go by week one.
