T.I. Receives Prestigious Phoenix Award from City of Atlanta & Mayor Andre Dickens

Last Friday, T.I. received the prestigious Phoenix Award from the City of Atlanta for his philanthropic and entertainment contributions, presented by Mayor Andre Dickens alongside former Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms and Senator Raphael Warnock.

This past year he cut the ribbon on his 140+ units of low-income housing in his Bankhead neighborhood of Atlanta for Intrada Westside, celebrated the 18th year of his annual turkey drive giving out over 1000 turkeys, and had 3 holiday drives with the Atlanta Mission, Project Pinnacle, and Next Level Boys Academy for his non-profits Us or Else and Harris Community Works.  2023 also celebrated the 20th anniversary of his album “Trap Muzik”, which spurred a popular sub-genre of hip-hop, Trap Music.  Artists that have followed in this sub-genre include Jeezy, Gucci Mane, Future, Migos, 21 Savage, and more.

The award was presented to T.I. on the final night of his two shows last Thursday and Friday with the Atlanta Pops, at Atlanta Symphony Hall.
