Hawks Talon GC Eliminated in First Round of ‘THE TURN’ Bracket Play

Team Fell to T-Wolves Gaming by Score of 76-64

Hawks Talon GC, the official NBA 2K League Affiliate of the Atlanta Hawks, fell to the top-ranked T-Wolves Gaming in the first round of THE TURN bracket play in Indianapolis on Wednesday, 76-64. ‘THE TURN’ marks the second consecutive tournament that Hawks Talon clinched a spot in bracket play. This was also the first tournament this season they advanced to bracket play in 5v5 gameplay.

Second-year guard Caesar Martinez (CEEZ) led Hawks Talon Gaming with 31 points and seven assists. Juan Gonzalez (HOTSHOT) tallied 14 points on a perfect 7-for-7 shooting, as well as eight rebounds.

“Our guys fought until the last second against a great team,” said Hawks Talon Head Coach Ismael Diaz-Tolentino (MAELO). “Our culture is all about progress and improving every day, and I know we will take lessons from this competition and apply them to our next challenge.”

Hawks Talon will return to 3v3 gameplay next, with THE SWITCH scheduled to begin the week of June 13. The official schedule and matchups will be announced the NBA 2K League later. During THE SLAM, the NBA 2K League’s first 3v3 tournament, Hawks Talon Gaming clinched the top seed in their group and advanced to the second round of the bracket play before being eliminated by Grizz Gaming. CEEZ was named NBA 2K League Player of the Week on May 11 after leading Hawks Talon to an undefeated week, including three sweeps.
