Craig Scott Talks Creating the Play/Film ‘C.A.N.D.S’, Black Activism, Growing Up with Jada Pinkett, Life in Baltimore & More

On the latest episode of “Pull Up a Chair”, writer, actor, activist Craig Scott pulled up to the LiveHipHopDaily Studios in Downtown Atlanta.

Craig Scott is a man of many talents, who for years has been viewed as the Black “Robin Hood”. In the late 80s and early 90s, Craig Scott pulled off a few successful bank heists in efforts to push funds into his urban community of Baltimore for education, housing and more who needed it. Craig Scott ended up serving time in prison where he learned several new skills including new forms of discipline, and he sharpened his creative writing skills as well.  

During that time, Craig Scott created a play entitled ‘Can A Nigger Do Shakespeare”. The film tackles several issues faced in the black community, and looks to unlock our history over the years in America as Black people. 

Recently, we Spoke with Craig Scott about the creating the play/ film ‘Can A Nigger Do Shakespeare”, how he linked up with Tim McKain (Producer of C.A.N.D.S), growing up in Baltimore, his teenage years in the acting world with Jada Pinkett-Smith, the current state of Black activism and more.
