Kyrie Irving releases Nike Kyrie 7 “Sisterhood” to honor all the queens who inspire the world ! Sis-ter-hood is a noun; its definition is the feeling of kinship with and closeness to a group of women or all women.
Was I the only human being that didn’t internalize Kyrie Irving’s statement regarding the earth being flat? Perhaps, society should be more concerned about the ways in which the 28-year old champion continues to humanize women and combat toxic masculinity through the game of basketball. Although the 6-time all-star had been injured for most of the 2019-2020 season, he still committed 1.5 million to help cover the salaries of the WNBA players sitting out due to injury or political interest. Believing that women deserve equality in every profession while understanding that capitalism perpetuates racism, which is why he lobbied for a sit-out to dismantle racism at its core, Irving is truly More Than An Athlete.
While others may believe Kyrie’s mind is anything but idealistic, he’s proven time and time again that his ideological makeup stems from a healthy childhood, where he and his sister were raised to be expressive. In an intimate conversation with his sister Asia Irving, the siblings detailed the inspiration behind his newest shoe.
Both agreed that their desire to become more mindful and aware of their feelings and thoughts were the dominant message pioneering the shoe. For consumers who plan on purchasing the Nike Kyrie 7’s, understand that you are representing more than a basketball shoe. The Kyrie 7 “Sisterhood” is available to purchase on nike.com.
