Sight Adjustment: Saints Name Jameis Winston Starting QB

The beginning of a new era for Sean Payton and the New Orleans Saints begins on September 12th. When the Saints take the field to kickoff their quest to win the NFC South, Jameis Winston will lead them as the team’s starting quarterback.

Earlier today, Saints head coach Sean Payton officially named Jameis Winston New Orleans starting quarterback.

Winston has looked phenomenal in preseason action under Sean Payton coaching including his most recent performance. During his week 2 preseason action vs. the Jacksonville Jaguars, Winston passed for 123 yards on (9-10) passing with 2 touchdowns passes. Jameis completed that feat in less than a half of play.

Personally, I believe Jameis Winston is due for a huge season with New Orleans. There is often a lot of hype made about the season where he throw 30 interceptions, but Winston has always been one of the most talented players in the league in my opinion. Now with Sean Payton’s leadership and the LASIK surgery Winston had, I feel like he is due for a 40 plus passing touchdown season if he can stay healthy.

The New Orleans Saints open the 2021 NFL season on Sunday September 12th against the Green Bay Packers.
