The #5 Georgia Bulldogs Upset the #3 Clemson Tigers in a Defensive Battle (10-3)

The dawgs defense had a day with a total of 7 sacks on defense led by Nakobe Dean’s 2 Big sacks in the first half.

Clemson was 3 for 12 on 3rd down and 5 of 6 of the sacks from the dawgs came on 3rd down.. Nakobe Dean led the defense with 2 sacks and 3 tackles.

Georgia held Clemson’s offense to 1 rush yard, 89 pass yards, and 90 total yards in the first half.

Christopher Smith returned a 74 yard interception for a touchdown, which was the only touchdown of the game.

Dj Uiagalelei had a rough day for the Tigers taking 7 sacks and throwing a pick 6. Dj had troubles throughout the game from fumbled snaps, to over throws, and an interception.

“We frustrated and confused them,” Smart said. Even when Georgia turned the ball over they couldn’t take advantage of it

Clemson didnt score until 9:08 left in the game when Joseph Ngata caught a 44-yard reception and a defensive pass interference call set up a 22-yard a field goal for B.T Porter helping the Tigers avoid a shutout since 2003.

DJ threw 19-37, 178 yards, and 1 int. “I didnt play well today and everyone could see that,”Uiagalelei said.

JT Daniels had his struggles as well along with not having his main top targets to start the season due to injury … The run game wasn’t its usual but it got the job done in the 4th, throwing 22-30, 135 yards, and 1 INT

Overall Georgia’s defense may be the best in the country after holding Clemson to 2 rushing yards and 7 sacks and not giving Uiagalelei a chance to set up in the pocket.

Dawgs take on Alabama- Birmingham next week to keep the season rolling in Athens.

How would the Dawgs do this season?
