Pac 12 and BIG 10 Postpone Football

After many meetings between Athletic Directors and School Presidents, the Pac 12 and BIG 10 both voted to postpone fall sports. Of course the biggest hit was losing fall football. They did say they would explore the idea of playing a spring schedule instead.

Big Ten presidents and chancellors came to their agreement on Tuesday to postpone all fall sports. They have hope to play in the Spring but that didn’t sit well in some programs.

Nebraska’s Head Coach Scott Frost came out along with Ohio State’s second year Head Coach Ryan Day to share their disappointment on the decision.

Both coaches let it be known that they still want to find a way to participate in the fall no matter who they have to play.

The Pac 12 conference followed suit and made their decision after getting multiple medical reports that detail the lasting effects that COVID-19 could potentially have on the respiratory system.

Scholarships for the impacted student-athletes will continue to be guaranteed.  Additionally, the Pac-12 advocates for NCAA grant students who opt out this year an additional year of eligibility.  As part of their guaranteed scholarships, they will continue to have university support, including academic advising and tutoring, among other support services.

All eyes are now on the three remaining Power 5 conferences. The SEC, BIG 12 and ACC have already come out and said they plan on proceeding as planned with their season.

How will you receive a National Champion if all the conferences didn’t participate?
