The Atlanta Hawks hosted the Chicago Bulls on Monday night in the Hawks last home game of the 2021 regular season.

The evening started off well for Hawks fans after news broke about two hours before gametime that Trae Young had cleared the NBA’s health and safety protocols. That momentum lasted for Atlanta for the first 24 minutes of the game.

The Chicago Bulls came into Monday’s game as one of the hottest teams in the NBA. The duo of DeRozan and Lavine has worked well for Chicago so far this season. Although the Bulls were without two of their key players (Lonzo Ball and Alex Caruso), the Bulls still had a very capable lineup on the floor.

The Hawks haven’t looked like themselves over the last week with over 10 players on the Atlanta roster missing time due to the NBA’s health and safety protocols. That was the case on Monday night as well.
Despite playing a tough game and putting up a fight, the Hawks couldn’t do enough on Monday night to defeat the Bulls.

For Atlanta, the bright spot of the night was the play of Cam Reddish. In his last four games for the Hawks, Cam Reddish is averaging nearly 24 points a night (23.8). On Monday night against the Bulls, Reddish shot (11-23) from the field scoring 33 points on the night.

Hawks all-star Trae Young played 39 minutes in his first game back in 8 days. Young finished the night shooting (8-23) from the field, scoring 29 points and dishing out 9 assists.

Chicago Bulls stars Zach Lavine and DeMar DeRozan had huge performances against the Hawks. DeRozan shot (14-20) from the field on Monday, scoring 35 points with 10 assists.

Bulls star Zach Lavine added 30 points and 9 assists.

Following Monday night’s loss, the Atlanta Hawks are currently (15-18) on the season.

The Hawks wiIl hit the road for their next six games beginning with a rematch vs. the Bulls on Wednesday before a matchup on New Year’s Eve in Cleveland against the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Hawks return home to State Farm Arena on January 12, 2022 vs. the Miami Heat.
