Talk about a heart breaking memory to begin a ball game.
During the 2022 MLB offseason, contract negotiations between former NL MVP Freddie Freeman and his former team the Atlanta Braves fell through. As a result, Freeman signed with Braves rivals and his hometown team, the Los Angeles Dodgers.
On Sunday evening, the Braves began their 2022 series against the Los Angeles Dodgers at Dodgers Stadium in Southern California.
When Freeman stepped in the the batter box for first time against his former team, Freddie sent a home run over the wall in centerfield.
The Dodgers went on to win the game vs. the Atlanta Braves (7-4). Watch Freddie Freeman hit his homer against the Braves above.
