Marsai Martin Upgrades Omari Hardwick’s Football Skills in “Fantasy Football” Movie

Written by @ShanieceNicole

Omari Hardwick, former Georgia Bulldog football player, current actor, and poet, shared stills of his latest Nickelodeon film, Fantasy Football, on Sunday afternoon. Hardwick wrote family, faith, fantasy and football underneath pictures with his costars Kelly Rowland (“Destiny’s Child”), Rome Flynn (“How to Get Away with Murder”), and Marsai Martin (“Black-ish”).

Produced by LeBron James’ and Maverick Carter’s Spring Hill Company and Martin’s Genius Entertainment, Hardwick plays an ordinary running back for the Atlanta Falcons who’s been revolutionized into an overnight sensation after his daughter, Callie A. Coleman (Marsai Martin), discovers that she can control her father’s performance on the football field through playing EA Sports’ Madden 23 video game. Together with their wife and mother (Kelly Rowland), they will ride the highs and lows of this magic potion while being a family.

Hardwick, best known for his role as James St. Patrick in the hit show “Power,” introduces his fans to a role that is firmly rooted in the former collegiate player’s past. Initially, the actor pursued a career in the NFL, but wasn’t selected. I can see how the former aspiring football player might feel he’s come full circle with not only having the opportunity to experience his first love, but having the opportunity to do so on his home team, the Atlanta Falcons.

The family sports fantasy-comedy debuts on November 25, exclusively on Paramount +.
