The Los Angeles Sparks are excited to announce the signing of Liz Cambage. The 6-foot-8 Australian center is a four-time WNBA All-Star (2011, 2018, 2019, 2021). In five seasons played, she’s averaged 16.3 points, 7.7 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 1.6 blocks per game while shooting 54.4% from the field.
“The Sparks organization is ecstatic to partner with a dynamic person and player in Liz Cambage who will elevate the franchise on and off the court,” General Manager/Head Coach Derek Fisher said. “At her best, Liz is the most dominant women’s basketball player in the world. She scores efficiently inside, can stretch the floor, and is a good passer. She’s also one of the league’s best rim protectors and rebounds at a high level. The addition of Liz, along with our other offseason moves, puts us in a position to compete for a WNBA championship.”
In addition to her All-Star appearances, Cambage’s accolades include: WNBA Scoring Champion (2018), First-Team All-WNBA (2018), Second-Team All-WNBA (2019), and All-Rookie Team (2011). Cambage holds the record for most points in a WNBA game when she scored 53 as a member of the Dallas Wings on July 17, 2018, against the New York Liberty. That effort was part of a career-year as she averaged 23.0 points, 9.7 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 1.7 blocks per game on the way to the league scoring title. She shot 58.9% from the field and 32.7% on 3-pointers that season, finishing second in MVP voting.

Cambage was drafted No. 2 overall in the 2011 draft by the Tulsa Shock. She played in 2011 and 2013 for Tulsa, and then returned to the WNBA in 2018 for the Dallas Wings. She was traded to the Las Vegas Aces on May 16, 2019. Liz played for Las Vegas in 2019 and 2021, helping lead the team to the WNBA Semifinals in both seasons. For her career, Cambage has appeared in 11 playoff games, with dominant averages of 17.5 points and 8.7 rebounds per game.
