Seattle Storm Sign Guard Kiana Williams to a 7-Day Contract

The Seattle Storm announced the signing of forward Kiana Williams to a 7-day contract on Friday. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Williams was selected No. 18 overall by the Storm in the second round of the 2021 WNBA draft before being waived on June 28.

Williams appeared in eight games for the Storm. She scored the first points of her career against the Connecticut Sun only hours after graduating from Stanford.

Williams came to Seattle fresh off an NCAA Championship at Stanford, where she averaged 13.4 points, 2.4 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game over four seasons and set the school record for career three-pointers made (310). Williams, who was named to the All-Pac-12 team three times and twice earned Pac-12 All-Tournament honors, started all but nine games in her career and averaged double-figures in scoring all four seasons.

Per the WNBA Collective Bargaining Agreement, Williams’ 7-day contract begins when the WNBA regular season resumes, and she will be eligible to participate in the Commissioner’s Cup Championship Game as the Storm face Connecticut on Aug. 12 at Footprint Center in Phoenix.
