Rhyne Howard Cleans Up WNBA Rookie of the Month Honors with Fourth-Straight Award

Atlanta Dream rookie guard Rhyne Howard was named August’s WNBA Kia Rookie of the Month, the league announced today. Howard becomes just the fourth player in league history to take home the award four times in their debut season and the seventh to earn all WNBA Rookie of the Month awards in a season.

In the month of August, Howard averaged 19.3 points, 4.0 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 2.2 steals in six games with the Dream.

Howard finished the season as the 12th-leading scorer in the league with a total of 552 points

an average of 16.2 points per game, making her the first Dream rookie to ever eclipse 500 points in a season. She scored 24 points in the final game of the season,
