Maite Cazorla to Forego 2022 WNBA Season

The Atlanta Dream announced today that guard Maite Cazorla will forego the 2022 WNBA Season. She will be placed on the full season suspended list as she takes time to rest this season.

“We want to wish Maite all the best this off-season,” said general manager Dan Padover. “She has had a great couple of seasons in Spain the last two years and we’re looking forward to welcoming her back to the Dream in the future.”

Cazorla was drafted 23rd overall by the Dream in the 2019 WNBA Draft and went on to average 3.0 points, 1.6 assists and 0.5 steals per game in her rookie season with Atlanta.

Most recently, Cazorla competed with the Spanish National Team at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, averaging 7.8 points and 1.8 assists to help Spain finish sixth in the tournament. She is currently playing with Perfumerías Avenida in Salamanca, Spain, where she is averaging 6.7 points, 1.6 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game.
