Dreams & Dallas Nightmares: Monique Billings’ 30pts Leads the Atlanta Dream To Victory vs. the Dallas Wings

It has been 136 days since Breonna Taylor was murdered in her own apartment. The officers responsible for her death have not been arrested.

The message is clear for this 2020 WNBA season. Regardless of their success on the floor, the women of the WNBA are looking for justice. On the court however, the Atlanta Dream showed no mercy on Sunday afternoon as the faced the Dallas Wings.

The Atlanta Dream are currently (1-0) to start the 2020 WNBA season after a (105-95) victory against the (0-1) Dallas Wings.

Atlanta Dream forward Monique Billings’ stole the show scoring 30 points and grabbing 13 rebounds. This was Monique Billings’ second career double-double.

Atlanta Dream rookie Chennedy Carter started and finished with 18 points, 8 assists and 5 rebounds her WNBA debut. Carter also dished out 8 dimes.

The Dream scored 100 points for the first time since August 9, 2018 (109 vs Las Vegas). This is a promising sign for Atlanta. Their offense could be a force this season.

Dream center Elizabeth Williams finished with an extremely efficient 17 points. Williams went 7-7 from the field and 3-3 from the line. Her seven made field goals with none missed ties the franchise record (last: Aneika Henry, at Tulsa, June 29, 2012).

Williams teammate Shekinna Stricklen added 16 points and knocked down 4 three-pointers in her Dream debut.

The Atlanta Dream are back in action of Wednesday July 29th vs. former Dream star Angel McCoughtry and the Las Vegas Aces.
