The Dream’s first trade of the new year brings the three-time WNBA All-Star to Atlanta for the 2023 season

The Atlanta Dream have acquired 11-year veteran guard Danielle Robinson from the Indiana Fever in a trade that sent guard Kristy Wallace to Indiana, the organization announced today.

“Danielle’s skillset, competitiveness, and basketball IQ will prove her to be a great addition to our team. Her game speaks for itself, and we know she will continue to bring the same energy to the floor that she has brought throughout her entire professional career,” said Dream General Manager and Executive Vice President Dan Padover. “Danielle is the exact type of professional we want to bring into this organization, her leadership and experience will be a huge asset for our young talent as they continue to grow into the future of the Dream.”

Robinson, a three-time WNBA All-Star and three-time WNBA All-Defensive Team selection, ranks 13th in WNBA history in career assists (1,376), 14th with an 86.8 career free-throw percentage, 17th in assists per game (4.2), and 19th in assist/turnover ratio (2.2). She spent the last two seasons in Indiana, where she averaged 8.5 points, 3.8 assists and an 87.0 free throw percentage in her time in Indianapolis.

Wallace spent her rookie season with the Dream in 2022, starting 18 of 29 games played, including her WNBA debut on May 7. She was originally drafted by the Dream in the 2018 WNBA Draft out of Baylor, but returned from injury to compete in her first WNBA Training Camp in May 2022. She went on to average 6.6 points, 2.3 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game to help the Dream to the franchise’s best record in five seasons.
