Organization Hired 95 Percent Of Job Seekers Who Participated In Interactive, One-of-A-Kind Interview Experience

On Saturday, the Atlanta Hawks and State Farm Arena hosted its inaugural ‘Interview Day’ and as a result hired 279 candidates for various part-time roles at the award-winning venue. Those seeking employment learned about the Hawks’ ‘True To You’ culture through an interactive, one-of-a-kind interview experience. Candidates who came prepared with resumes received opportunities to interview with hiring managers of various departments such as arena conversion, food and beverage, guest experience, housekeeping, security, Hawks retail, ticket box office, flight crew and uniform management.

“We’re excited to welcome prospective new hires from Interview Day into our Hawks and State Farm Arena culture,” said Camye Mackey, Hawks and State Farm Arena Executive Vice President and Chief People, Diversity and Inclusion Officer. “As we continue to identify and hire more local talent, we will also find ways to improve our experience for new and seasoned team members.”

Of the near 293 candidates, 279 candidates were provisionally hired and will complete a formal background check for official employment. Provisional candidates were also invited to a celebratory festival inside the arena, which included games, food, networking opportunities and an appearance from Harry the Hawk and the ATL Hawks Dancers.

“Our inaugural Interview Day was a very successful event,” said Brett Stefansson, Hawks’ Executive Vice President and General Manager of State Farm Arena. “Providing world-class service is one of our top priorities, and we are excited to extend offers to candidates who want to make memorable experiences for those that come to our award-winning venue.”

The part-time job openings will offer a minimum starting salary of $16 per hour. These jobs will also offer benefits that include access to discounted medical services, five paid major holidays, paid training and development and scholarship opportunities. New team members can also expect to receive bonuses for time, attendance and performance during their service.

On site was Emory Healthcare, the official team healthcare provider for the Hawks, who had clinicians available to speak to candidates about the importance of developing positive health habits, provided blood pressure checks and distributed educational materials.
