Atlantic Records officially announces the signing of Carson, California artist Jayson Cash. Today, the emerging lyricist unveils the music video for his autobiographical new single “All I Know,” helmed by visionary West Coast collective madebyJAMES.
“Jayson Cash is going to be one of the biggest artists to come out of the West Coast this year,” says Dallas Martin, EVP, A&R for Atlantic Records. “His music is visual; you can see everything happening as you listen. He’s an incredible lyricist and a true hustler. I’m ready for the world to hear his powerful story.”
“Dallas signing me to Atlantic was a blessing for not only me, but for everybody around me,” says Jayson Cash. “My family, my friends, my city, just everybody. I signed my deal on the same block I struggled and cried on, Camba Ave, literally right under the street sign. The odds were against us, but the underdogs are up now. InCrowd Only!”
Produced by Tha Eastie Boyz and Jay Millian, “All I Know” serves as the first offering from Jayson’s forthcoming debut project. The introspective track is both an ode to his Southern California upbringing and a celebration for rising from the trenches to represent for his city.
The music video is a poetic retelling of a life-altering experience that drastically impacted his career trajectory. In 2017, Jayson was tragically shot three times as a result of passing by a gang initiation gone horribly wrong. His unwavering faith and relentless drive played a crucial role in his road to recovery, from dropping a freestyle while in his hospital bed to relearning how to walk.
Heavily influenced by the West Coast at large, Jayson Cash balances gaining wisdom through his own first-hand experiences with learning from the example set by the legends who helped pave the way before him such as Suga Free, Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, and the late Kobe Bryant. Growing up, Jayson’s musical upbringing radiated around the church, with his grandfather’s ministry encouraging him to participate in the youth choir and explore his own creative gifts. Throughout the past several years, Jayson has embraced his calling as a rapper with full force, working tirelessly to pick up where he left off and see where his career can take him next.
