What a game in South Philly.

The Atlanta Hawks have taken a (1-0) series lead in their second round eastern conference matchup against the Philadelphia 76ers. The Hawks defeated the Sixers (128-124) in Game 1 at the Wells Fargo Center.

The first half of the game was dominated by the Atlanta Hawks. The Hawks shot 72% from the field in the first quarter, scoring 42 points

The Hawks led by as much as 26 points in the first half after going on a (17-0) run.

Trae Young was sensational in the first half scoring 25 points going (4-7) from three point play. The Sixers struggled in the first half turning the ball over. Philly had ten first half turnovers leading to the Sixers trailing (74-54) at the half.

The second half of the game was a lot closer on both sides of the ball.

The Sixers seemed to find their groove on the offensive and defensive side of the ball cutting into the Hawks big lead. The Hawks were able to keep the Sixers at a distance until the middle of the fourth quarter. The Hawks came their lead against the Sixers between 15 and 12 points until Ben Simmons and the Sixers turned it up a notch on the defense end.

Joel Embiid who was a game time decision for Philadelphia had a huge game. Embiid scored 39 points including 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 blocks.

In many ways, the three point shot was the key and difference to the game. The Hawks were rolling from three all evening going (20-47) this afternoon. The Sixers shot (10-28) from three.

The final two minutes of this game was thrilling or sloppy depending on who you wanted to win. Seth Curry was clutch for Philadelphia with under two minutes remaining to cut the Hawks lead to 7 points (118-111).

The Sixers created a steal and a stop to cut the Hawks lead to 3 points before Bodgan Bodganovic hit a three pointer with 41 seconds remaining to give the Hawks a six point lead. Atlanta never looked back.

Trae was once again great on the road. Trae finished the afternoon with 35 points and 10 assists. Trae Young is the first Hawks player (Atlanta or St. Louis) with a 35 point and 10 assists playoff game since 1965. Bogdan Bogdanovic and John Collins both added 21 points.

Ben Simmons scored 17 points with 10 assists. Seth Curry added 21 points, while Tobias Harris scored 20 points.
