Coach Pierce Flips The Script, Ask Terrell Thomas & Chris Kirschner Their Thoughts on the Hawks MLK Jerseys

On Monday January 18th, the (5-7) Atlanta Hawks are set to host the (3-8) Minnesota Timberwolves for a special matinee matchup.

Before the game tips off, Hawks head coach Lloyd Pierce spoke with the media about the Hawks playing on MLK Day, why he has been so involved with social justice and more.

The Atlanta Hawks are set to debut their “MLK” Nike city edition jerseys and a special “MLK” home court today as they face the Timberwolves.

TheseUrbanTimes’ own Terrell Thomas asked Coach Pierce about the uniqueness of the Hawks honoring Dr. Martin Luther King but wearing the “MLK” jerseys. Coach Pierce flipped the script and asked Terrell Thomas and The Athletic’s own Chris Kirschner their thoughts on the Hawks stand with involvement in social justice issues and honoring Dr. King on their team uniform.
