Clint Capela’s Triple Double, Trae Young’s 43 Points Night Leads Atlanta Pass Minnesota

The Atlanta Hawks are rolling right now and that is largely thanks to the play of big man Clint Capela and all-star Trae Young.

On Friday night (Jan. 22), the Atlanta Hawks defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves (116-98).

The Hawks pretty much lead the game from start to finish and controlled the tempo the entire evening. The Hawks roster is starting to recover from injury and things are starting to shape out. Free agent pick up Danilo Gallinari was back in the lineup for the the first time in 2021 and his presence made a big difference.

The stars of the night for the Atlanta Hawks by far were Clint Capela and Trae Young. Clint Capela is having a monster season so far for Atlanta. Following a night in which Clint scored 26 points and 27 rebounds, in Friday’s night game Capela messed around and recorded a triple double.

Clint Capela dropped 13 points, grabbed 19 rebounds and blocked 10 shots. Trae Young seems to have found his offensive groove. Trae finished the night with 43 points.

For the Timberwolves, Malik Beasley was the leader scorer. Beasley shot (7-11) from the field scoring 17 points. Jarrett Culver was also effective from the field. Culver shot (6-13) from the floor for 15 points.

The Hawks are now (9-7). The Hawks continue their road trip on Sunday January 24th as they head to Milwaukee to face the Milwaukee Bucks.
