Anthony Davis Leads Lakers to a (1-0) NBA Finals Lead

The 2020 NBA Finals are under way and on Wednesday evening, the Los Angeles Lakers came out into Game 1 and made a big statement.

The Lakers lead their 2020 NBA Finals series vs. the Miami Heat (1-0) after a (116-98) victory over the Heat.

Lakers big man Anthony Davis had a strong performance in his first NBA Finals game. Anthony Davis finished the night with 34 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assist. Davis controlled the pace early and never looked back.

Lakers MVP LeBron James also had a huge night. LeBron nearly dropped a triple-double. James finished the night with 25 points, 13 rebounds, 9 assists. LeBron is playing in his tenth NBA Finals and his leadership was key during Game 1.

The Miami Heat started fast but once the Lakers started rolling, Miami seemed out matched. Heat star Jimmy Butler finished with 23 points in 33 minutes of action. Heat star Bam Adebayo hurt his shoulder and only played 21 minutes during Game 1.

The Heat may have an up hill battle in Game 2. Heat guard Goran Dragic has suffered a plantar tear in his left foot and he will miss some time. How much time is the question.

The Heat will be looking to turn things around in Game 2. Game 2 tips off on Friday October 2nd at 9pm.
