Jeremy Mincey Talks Dak Prescott’s Road to Recovery, the Importance of Mental Health Awareness

On Friday, December 4, 2020 at 7:00pm, guests gathered at The Westside Warehouse, 994 Huff Rd. Atlanta, GA to fellowship at the inaugural annual Retired Players’ Ball – A Black Tie Holiday Affair fundraiser gala presented by NBA Alumni Jumaine Jones and Josh Powell in support of 21 Reasons to Give Foundation and Atlanta Select Association.

Jumaine Jones & Josh Powell hosted this event with NBA Alumni Damien Wilkins, Dennis Scott, Lamar Odom, former NFL Superstars Chris Johnson, Jeremy Mincey, and Peter Warrick, and MLB Hall of Famer Otis Nixon.

The night highlighted mental health awareness in transitional athletes and high-profile professionals as well as share the value of prioritizing wellness amongst the retired athlete player community.

Jumaine Jones & Josh Powell are dedicated to introducing Mindful Sport & Performance Inc. to the community at large to encourage retired athletes and high functioning professionals to embrace mental health and wellness, commit to professional development outside of their respective sport, and help young people learn specific skills and recognize character values that transfer outside of sports.

During the night, TheseUrbanTimes own Terrell Thomas caught up with former NFL defensive tackle Jermey Mincey. Mincey was selected by the New England Patriots in the sixth round of the 2006 NFL Draft. Mincey played for the Dallas Cowboys, Jacksonville Jaguars, Denver Broncos and San Francisco 49ers.

During our interview, Terrell Thomas spoke with Jeremey Mincey about the importance of Mental Health awareness, Dak Prescott’s road to recovery and one of the greatness moments from his time in the NFL.
