Saweetie & Doja Cat Join Forces On “Best Friend”

Multi-platinum sensation and pop-rap party-starter Saweetie continues her hot streak today with the release of her steamy Pretty Summer Playlist: Season 1 EP on ICY/Warner Records. Each of the set’s 7 tracks feels like a party, welcoming a host of electric guests including L.A. rap innovator Drakeo the Ruler and rising Sacramento vocalist Kendra Jae. On every track, including “Risky” with Drakeo, Saweetie’s charisma and confidence are on full display, reminding us why she’s one of rap’s most exciting young superstars.

For SaweetiePretty Summer Playlist: Season 1 is the latest entry in an extremely productive run. In January, she dropped the banging club cut “Best Friend” with Doja Cat, on which the duo traded bars celebrating each others’ success, beauty, and independence. Billboard called it “the girl power anthem of 2021,” and fans connected too. It’s garnered over 105 million streams on YouTube alone and hit #1 at radio. Saweetie followed that track in March with a UK remix featuring the beloved British MC Stefflon Don. Recently, Saweetie partnered with the Australian eyewear company Quay for their Spring collection.

As part of the campaign launch, Saweetie and Quay are launching a scholarship program to give 10 students $10,000 scholarships. Check out the new collection HERE.  While “Best Friend” scores Zoom hangouts and socially distanced gatherings for lifelong pals waiting for the club to reopen, the Cosmopolitan cover star is preparing for the release of her debut album, Pretty B*tch Music. With production from Danja, Lil John, Murda Beatz, and more, Pretty B*tch Music is the soundtrack to Saweetie‘s movement, which encourages all women to define their own “pretty.” She’s said before that her empowered definition of “b*tch” is “boss, independent, tough, CEO, and hyphy.” Pretty B*tch Music arrives this summer, and if Pretty Summer Playlist: Season 1 is any indication, watch what Saweetie does next!
